God's Glory in the Earth

Isa 6:3 … Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

Considering the distress, confusion, and evil in the world, we could wonder, “Where is the glory of the Lord?”  While this verse may have its final fulfillment at some future point, in times like these, we can still see God’s glory in the earth in many ways.  First, we should look up to view God’s glory.

Psalms 19:1-6:The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

What we see in the heavens speaks of God’s glory.  In this, we are reminded of the wonder and splendor of all creation, and therefore of God’s mighty power.

The glory of the Lord is also displayed on earth in tragic circumstances.  The situation may be desperate and hopeless for man, as in the case of Lazarus.

John 11:1, 4:Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha …4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

Man saw the power of death, but a pre-planned miracle would demonstrate God’s glory.  The lesson for the ages is to replace despair and discouragement with faith in God.  If we would see God’s glory in the earth, we must believe Him regardless of the tragedies we encounter.

John 11:40:Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

Mark 5:36:Be not afraid, only believe.

Mark 11:22:And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
