The Gospel, that is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, is one of most important points of the Bible. Where does the power of the Gospel come from? What makes the Gospel so effective? The answer lies in the foundation, or basis of the Gospel, Jesus Christ (Matt 16:16-18).  In fact, the Bible makes several references to the Gospel of Christ.

Acts 4:10-12 …by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner (foundation). 12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin...

How can Jesus have no sin when we see in Psalms 51:5 that we are born in sin and shapen in iniquity? Paul declares in Romans 3:23, “ For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” The answer is that Jesus is God manifest in the flesh. The foundation of the Gospel is that a Holy God loved us enough to robe Himself in flesh, for the suffering of death (Heb 2:9).
